Rules and Condition of Entry (Current for the 2026 Show, subject to change for the 2027 Show)

  • No claim can be entertained for anything which may happen to competitors, onlookers, their property, or horses in connection with, or out of the event. It shall be a condition of entry that each entrant agrees to indemnify the organisers against any legal action arising from any accident or incident.
  • Health and Safety: the committee and event organisers of the show have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents and must obey the instruction of the committee organisers and all advisor’s and stewards.
  • The committee and event organisers reserve the right to cancel any class, divide or amalgamate any classes, alter start times, limit the entries, refuse any entry with or without stating a reason.
  • Entry forms must be completed correctly and fees must be paid at time of entry. Entry fees will only be refunded (less £5 administration fee) on the production of a vets or doctors certificate.
  • No horse/pony under the age of 4 may enter any ridden classes.
  • ALL riders MUST wear protective hats to Pony Club standards at all times when mounted. Please see the current hat rules on the Pony Club website—www.pcuk.org.
  • Excessive use of whips and/or spurs is forbidden
  • No horse/pony is to be left tied to lorry or trailer unattended
  • The judges decision is final
  • Any objection must be raised within 30 minutes of the incident, in writing to the secretary, accompanied by a deposit of £20, returnable if the objection is upheld.
  • Do not muck trailers out on Show Ground, please take muck and litter home with you as livestock use this ground.
  • All dogs must be kept on short lead.
  • No entry form will be accepted without a signature.
  • RDA members may enter any class regardless of the child’s age and may be led in any class.
  • ONLY CARS PULLING TRAILERS & LORRIES CAN PARK IN HORSE BOX PARK. All other cars to car park and occupants pay entry fee.
